How to connect WhatsApp using a QR code

Connecting WhatsApp via QR code is the step that allows WaFloW.ai to send and receive real messages from a WhatsApp number.

This document explains how to establish a connection correctly, securely, and stably.

What does it mean to connect WhatsApp via QR? #

Connecting WhatsApp via QR means:

  • Link a WhatsApp number to a device within a subaccount.
  • Authorize WaFloW.ai to manage messages from that number.
  • Establish an active connection between WhatsApp, WaFloW.ai, and GoHighLevel.

The connection is made by scanning a QR code, just like on WhatsApp Web.

Before you begin #

Before scanning the QR code, please ensure that:

  • The subaccount is active and correctly connected to GoHighLevel.
  • You have access to the physical phone with the WhatsApp number.
  • The phone has a stable internet connection.
  • WhatsApp is updated to the latest version.

Step by step guide to connecting WhatsApp #

Access the subaccount #

  • Log in to your WaFloW.ai account.
  • Access the subaccount where you want to connect WhatsApp.

Go to the devices section #

  • Access the list of devices.
  • Select the option to connect a new device.

Generate the QR code #

  • Click on "Generate QR code."
  • A unique QR code will be displayed on the screen.

⚠️ Do not close this window while connecting.

Scan the QR code from WhatsApp #

On the phone with the WhatsApp number:

  1. Open WhatsApp.
  2. Go to Paired Devices.
  3. Click on Link a device.
  4. Scan the QR code displayed on WaFloW.ai.

Connection confirmation #

Once scanned correctly:

  • The device will appear as connected.
  • The number will be linked to the subaccount.
  • WaFloW.ai will be able to start sending and receiving messages.

What happens after the connection #

After connecting the QR code:

  • The device switches to active status.
  • The device settings are applied.
  • Incoming and outgoing messages are synchronized with GHL.

It is advisable to review:

  • Device priority.
  • Automatic signature.
  • Tags and automations.

Common problems during connection #

  • The QR code expires → generate a new one.
  • The phone has no connection.
  • WhatsApp is not up to date.
  • The number is already linked elsewhere.
