Configure OpenAI API Key (optional)

WaFloW.ai allows you to integrate OpenAI to enable AI-based features, such as automatic audio-to-text transcription.

This configuration is optional and only necessary if you wish to use AI features.

What is the purpose of integration with OpenAI? #

By configuring an OpenAI API Key, WaFloW.ai can:

  • Automatically convert WhatsApp audio messages to text.
  • Facilitate the reading and analysis of conversations.
  • Improve internal flows within the CRM.

If you do not set up an OpenAI key, the platform will continue to function normally, simply without these features.

Prerequisites #

Before you begin, you will need:

  • An active account with OpenAI.
  • A valid API Key generated from your OpenAI account.
  • Access to the WaFloW.ai subaccount wherever you want to use AI.

Where to configure the API Key #

The API Key is configured at the subaccount level, not globally.

To do this:

  1. Access the corresponding subaccount.
  2. Go to the integrations or device settings section.
  3. Locate the field to enter the OpenAI API Key.

How to add the OpenAI API Key #

  1. Copy your API Key from the OpenAI platform.
  2. Paste it into the corresponding field in WaFloW.ai.
  3. Save your changes.

From that moment on, AI features will remain active for that subaccount or device, depending on the settings.

API Key Security #

  • The key is stored securely.
  • Not shared with third parties.
  • Only used for activated AI functions.

👉 Recommendation: Do not reuse this password on untrusted systems.

Associated costs #

The use of OpenAI may generate additional costs directly to your OpenAI account, depending on usage and the model configured.

WaFloW.ai does not charge for the use of the API Key, but does not control OpenAI’s costs.

Common problems #

  • Transcription is not working.
    Verify that the API Key is valid and has sufficient funds.
  • Authentication errors
    Make sure you have copied the entire key.
  • Unexpected costs
    Review your usage and limits in your OpenAI account.
